Apexi Pen TT Eratic Problem

I just put a brand new Apexi pen style turbo timer on my 05 EVO and used a HKS MT-6 harness to install it, the unit has a solid ground. The e-brake wire is hooked up properly. So it only keeps the car running about half the time when you turn the car off. It always counts down when you turn the car off but just doesn't keep the car running sometimes. It will shut down totally if you put the e-brake down. I have installed many of these in the past and never had a problem. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this or did I just get a bad turbo timer. I have trouble understanding why it works sometimes but not others. Any insight would be great.

I vaguely remember this probably on my buddies. I think that it's the result of switched wires... maybe the ignition1 and ignition2?

We both installed them simultaneously....we had different harnesses though. When I shut my car off, the TT would kick in with no problems but when he shut his off, it would stutter or shut down comepletely.

When we compared our wiring, his harness had 2 wires reversed... I want to say it was Blue and Green but it's been so long, I barely remember....

Look into the possibility of switched wiring...particularly the ACC or IGN wires...

sorry I can't be more helpful...

I am using the Apexi TT with the same HKS harness as you and its working perfectly. Recheck all your wiring and connections. Are you grounding to the chassis or ECU? I'm grounded to the ECU.
