igo4bmx do you have a part number for the brackets? or do you have to buy the whole relocation kit?

 

i just bought the brackets- coming tommorrow
do a search here- its also like 3 something each bracket - cheap!

Is their more wiring involved for a CarPC than a standard stereo Unit? like a Kenwood double-din unit

 

well yeah
you need to wire the following:
video cable from screen to laptop
usb cable for touchscreen functionality from screen to laptop
a power inverter or car charging kit to power desktop of laptop (hardwired for cleaner look)
audio cable from computer to aux input of stereo.
gps should be the same for both.
power, ground, illum for screen

plan for pics this weekend! I need to figure out how to wire my usb gps receiver to the front center of my windshield where the square hole is

 

haha its ok, i've been too busy working on my house i've completely neglected the evo. I figure if you send me the front end i might get motivated i'm actually going to buy the brackets for the screen right now

 

i'm online at work on my car pc lol had to bring it in to dl some programs. still waiting for the brackets to arrive and i'll begin the install
