cracked a volk wheel!

I've owned rotas, oz racing, enkei,s etc.

the only wheel that cracks on me is a volk?! I didn't even drive on them hard- i just commute daily to work.

its a crack right in the middle of one spoke- not repairable now it goes into the track and i have a set of 3 volk LE28n wheels that will be almost impossible to sell, unless i fork up $700-800 bucks to find ONE more just to match....

no bends or anything in the wheel except the crack!

Yes, its been known to happen but Volk wheels are still amazingly well made. The downside is of course the cost&wait time.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

If the wheel has no other damage, maybe you should contact Volk/Rays USA. I don't know that they would buy you a wheel, but maybe they help.

I've seen a CE28 crack a spoke so I'll believe it. It sounds similar to where your spoke cracked.

+1. I know that anything man made can fail, but this is one of those thinga that it just hard to believe because you rarely hear about it.

if the wheel is made from aluminum it can be welded then refinished, this might cost about 200 bucks depending on who does the work.

considering he has owned so many wheels, my hunch is he doesnt buy every wheel for retail but used... then all bets are off.
