What am i missing?

<FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff">Ok, so i bought my evo used. I have no clue about the evo's sound system, but apparently this guy replaced some stuff. When i bought it, it had the amp's removed.

(passenger side)
Here is the pic of the tweeter...umm both of them.

Here is the pic of the rear coaxials....

what is that plug and why is it unplugged?

Here is a bundle of wires in my trunk...

Looks like 4 wire sets (white/black, green/black, purple/black and gray/black) + 2 sets of rca cables.

and here is the pic of how i wired my sub amp.

left and right bridged, power, ground, rca cable, and remote wire.

Sorry for the size and quality of pics. they were done with my cell phone.

So what am i missing? And why isn't my amp working (this is another thread that i made). I think i have kappa 63.7i's in the back. Don't know the rest, especially the one in the door panel.

I have a pioneer deh-80mp headunit (60w). Everything works (except for the sub of course). im wondering how in the crap is everything working when the wires are just out like that and there is no amp powering the speakers.

Here is a bottom view of my rear coax.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

ok i am going to throw out a guess. my guess is all of speaker wire in the trunk is separate wiring for the front and rear speakers. i don't know why you have a high level wire plugged in if you have rca jacks and double check your fuses and ground. i don't know what head unit your running but make sure your remote wire is hooked up and make sure the fuse or fuse block on the battery is not blown or fuse block is on.

Is the amp powering up? Are you getting power to your remote wire when the radio is turned on? The speaker wire that is unplugged could have just been from the factory harness. The previous owner probably ran two separate wires from the speaker to the amp.

You need a multimeter. You have to use a ground in the vehicle for the negative wire(usually the black one on the multimeter). A ground is any exposed metal or nonpainted screw on a piece of metal. Then you use the positive probe on the remote wire and see if when you turn on the radio you get roughly a 12 volt reading. You also need to check your ground for the amp and power cable are good and get a 12 volt reading. Once thats all correct the amp should turn on even if there are no speakers hooked up unless the amp is bad. Depending on what the issue may be it can be a challenge for even an experienced person to do. I've done many stereo installs on many different cars and when you haven't done the wiring yourself it can sometimes be a tedious undertaking.

I'd toss those extra pounds and just listen to the BASS out of my exhaust and the speaker from the engine

Ok. Am i doing this right?

Power to the remote wire

Ground (exposed peice of metal trunk)

and Multimeter set on DC 25v. It reads nothing.

So that means the remote wire is not powered up?

Yes it looks like its not turning on. The remote wire only gives voltage on when the radio turns on. Is the radio on when you were testing? If not try turning the radio on and trying again. If the radio was on , take the radio out and put the postive probe on the remote wire on the radio harness and negative probe to the negative on the radio or body of car.

Is there an aftermarket deck? He might have took the deck and therefore lost your remote turn on. Are you getting any volume, from the speakers?

Yeah its a pioneer premier deck. I don't have the tool to remove it. Its just two strips of metal basically.

Anyways...i checked underneath and it looks like its not connected to anything. Gahhhh.

Question:

How do i power two amps (one for sub, one for speakers) with only one power wire from the battery?

If the deck was installed correctly, you don't need the removal tools.

For the amps you need a fused distribution block. Basically it takes your main power wire in, splits it across 2 fuses, then out to each amp, usually with a smaller gauge wire. Do the same for the ground, except you can use a non-fused distro block. Hopefully you have at least 4 gauge wire from the battery and to ground. They need to be the same size. It should say on the wire. Make sure you have a fuse under the hood.

^^Like he said definitely check for a fuse under the hood. That could be a big problem waiting to happen if there isnt one at all. If the fuse is simply missing from the fuse holder, you will need to insert the proper fuse to allow the amps to work. Are you getting any volume from the speakers in the front and rear?
