yep, i have one and couldn't really tell the diff. between the two.

 

I have the 2" and the reception SUX big time but i keep it for the bling. And i use my ipod anyways

 

I also have the 2" and my reception sux a$$! But it might be due to my jensen flip out piece of crap deck I installed. DVD's look good on it but everything else sux.

 

I have only lost quality with one radio station going to a 4" from stock. Went to a 2" and it only made that station worse.. Reception is close to the same other wise for me.

I am no expert but if you increase inductance on the antenna it increases its equivalent length. So in a perfect case Perrin or anyone should have done this. But I am not an expert at that stuff.

 

My dad turned his s2k into a full bore race car so I stole his antenna, it worked perfectly same ****ty reception as the stock antenna.. I hate the radio so much, and the quality in the Evo was never great enough to matter. I've listened to the radio in an Evo with the "bolt" mod (where you buy a bolt that fits into the slot from like home depot and then a rubber cap for it) and it sounded just as good as mine w/ stock and w/ the S2k antenna: like crap. Radio quality music is so awful

 

i just bought the 2" one the other day and i get bad reception in the city

 

I get the same reception with teh 4" perrin shorty as I did with the stock one.

 

i think i have the 2" and ive honestly NEVER used my radio. i dont like the radio as i have an ipod radio thing. but w/e ive heard come on when i swithch through the modes didnt sound fuzzy so...

 

i just bought a 4" shorty. It fits perfectly and proportionate. 2" seems like it'd be way too tiny.

 

I have the 2 in and live in the country...... sometimes I push the seek button and it goes back to the station I started on.... I only have about 2 stations lol

I heard the hummers antenna is a direct swap too.....

 

Why not just remove it and not put an antenna on it? Looks like them BMW antenna I haven't tried it though.

 

Anyone have a hummer antenna on there car with a pic? Would like to see the different setups thanks

I hear ya, I have NO reception and I have the same antenna. Funny thing is, everything is hooked up, but there's no telling that the previous owner did to it.

 

I stole one from a s2000 but it still sucks lol
