does anybody know the factory code for stock stereo??

hi everybody,

i have a 2005 evo 8 with ssl infinity set up. do any of you know what the security code is? i have to disconnect my battery and dont have the code to get my stereo working again. im the second owner and do not have any info from previous owner and the sheet thats supposed to have it is not with the owners manual. i called my dealer and they said that it would be $50 bucks for them to get it. rip off! any help would be appreciated.

are you sure you need the factory code? I also have an 05 with SSL and i disconnected my battery without resetting my code back when i had the stock deck

The security code is unique to your stereo, otherwise the anti-theft code wouldn't be much of an anti-theft measure if it was all universal. Just try stopping in the dealership sometime and chatting with the service department. Bring something to show that you legally own the car, and they should be able to look it up for you.

did your stereo work when you hooked your battery back up? the service guy at mitsubishi said that it would not.

I'm having the same problem. I disconnected my clock also and that too wont work now.

What we do here for radio codes at our shop is call the dealership telling them what shop we are, tell them that we had to unhook the radio/battery and usually they will give us the code for free. You could try that. I don't have the infinity so I've never had to use a code. As for the clock, I don't see why that shouldn't work. The simple thing would be to meter it to see if it has power.

after calling around to some different dealerships, they need the actual serial # off the head unit itself and then call it in and get the code. they cant look it up by vin which i thought was all they need. going to let them get it tomorrow.
