I love the JL W7's, but the weight is crazy. I had a 13W7 and the speaker alone was 46lbs. I was thinking about maybe Kicker solobaric 10's. Less air space= less material= less weight. I guess it's all about how much you are willing to sacrifice bass to weight I guess.

What kind of sound are you looking for? And how loud do you want it to be?

Two W7s are going to be pretty damn loud if installed and powered properly.

2 W7's is complete overkill in an Evo. I have 1 12" W7 that when it needs to, hits harder than any 2 subwoofers I have previously owned. Given the proper amount of power, 1 W7 is all you need.

Need help here. What sub to get with this setup?

Alpine CDA-9887
JL Audio 250/1
Audio Integrations 12" sub enclosure (1.2 cubic foot)

I am thinking of the JL 12W3V2, 12W3V3, or even the 12W6. I am not looking for a super loud system, just something that is nice and deep at comfortable volume levels. Also, the lighter the better.....

I have that box and a 12W6 putting 650W through it. Depending on your type of music it may or may not be loud enough. I will say this with Boston Pro60's F/R and the sub with about 9-1k W/RMS you cannot here any road noise or exhaust noise at highway speeds. As for straight bass it's really not very loud to me, but 10 years ago I had a 150db system in a mustang, so it's all relative.

I wish I would have done a system when I first bought the car. Worth every penny of that 100lbs I added. The audio integrations box is great can't say enough about it.
