Hey folks. I just got an email from the guys at Orbital. After the long wait for us with preorders for the V2 and double din radios still waiting to be installed, they've apparently canceled all the preorders and will be refunding us the money.

The email read like this "All V2 ticket orders will be refunded by this evening as another company will be handling distribution, production, and sales." If this is the case then who is the new company? When will they start selling the part? and most importantly How soon can we get our hands on them? My D3 is still in the box and I am dying to get it installed.

Anyone have any information on the new distributor of this new double din kit?

Wow, I've actually been waiting for this to come out so I can convince myself to get a double-din navi (wasn't really satisfied with the way the first ones looked too much). Looks like another let down .

I wish I knew. I've got a Pioneer Avic D3x that has been sitting next to my desk waiting to be installed for over a month and a half. I'm hoping that either the guys at Orbital tell us who the new manufacturer is or that the mystery company comes out from hiding with some good news for us. This is such a drag!

I ended up buying one used on here, but it took a lot of time and effort to get ahold of orbital to refund my money though.

 

He was in talks with Fujitsu Ten (ECLIPSE), so if they are taking over (he had a patent) expect something that will look factory when the end up putting it on the market!

Fujitsu looks unlikely. It seems like they make actual navis and stuff, not double din kits. how accurate is your information? Orbital should be the ones telling us where to go for this. It's almost like inventing a new precious metal and then telling investors they just don't have it anymore... disappointing!

 

That's pretty gay. I wanted a double din again after selling mine . And if anyone asks why I sold the kit....I hated the fit and finish and was looking forward to tighter gaps and a better grain with the V2 .

 

Anybody else get their refund or an email notification? I haven't seen anything yet. Any luck contacting rich directly? This is pretty lame though.

I have a final update on this production run for you and everyone else on our waiting list. We’ve confirmed that our manufacturing company will be shipping out our parts by May 15th. Accordingly, we will have ALL orders shipped by May 16th. I’m sorry for the delay, but I don’t handle production – I merely place the manufacturing orders and wait for the parts to come in.

Is this for your V2 or V1? I wish i could get an email like that but I haven't received anything. I did receive the email about the refund, but I haven't been credited any money. If the V2 ships tomorrow then I'd be happy.
