Dash Lights NEED HELP PLEASE
Dash Lights NEED HELP PLEASE
I recently installed a aftermarket radio into my evo8. The radio works fine. The only problem is my HVAC lights and light where my intercooler sprayer button is and light where the dimmer switch wont turn on when I turn my lights on. All the outside lights work fine. I also noticed the clock stays fully bright when the lights are on instead of dimming down like it should. Somehow the inside of my car isn't getting the signal when my lights are turned on. I checked all my fuses under the driver, and they all looked good.!?
I'm not 100% sure but I think the first time I turned on everthing, they were light for about 1 second then went out.
Please help!
I don't know if it has something to do with illumination wire or what?
This is the wire diamgram I used
Constant12V+=Red/black
accessory seitched 12V+=blue/yellow
ground=green/white
radio illumination=black/yellow
antenna trigger=yellow
LFS+=red/white
LFS-=red/blue
RFS+=red
RFS-=green
LRS+=white/blue
LRS-=yellow/red
RRS+=light green
RRS-= yellow green
Please help I'm stuck untill I get some answers! THANK YOU

check the fuses under the hood inside the yellow connector thing. There should be 2 red fuses there (10A I believe). You probably blew one of them. It seems to be really common for people to blow these fuses during a radio install. I'm not sure how, but . . .
Why wouldn't you have used a wiring harness to install the radio? Disconnect the illumination wire. It sounds like you didn't test any wires before making any connections so you dont know what kind of output the radio has for illumination as well as what your dimmer acutally does. If that doesn't fix it, check all your fuses with a multimeter, pulling them out doesn't count as chekcing them. Sometimes they bad part is not visible. If all else fails take it to a perfessional.
