Need speaker/amp suggestions

I have a budget of Approx. $500 for my speakers and amp.
I have a Pioneer Z2 and am thinking about getting the Pioneer tsc130 component speakers and pioneer amp (not sure which one) just to match my head unit. But I've seen most members go with an Alpine type R setup. Should i consider these instead?
I have no idea which amp i should get.
I'm really a noob when it comes to car audio so any suggestions who be helpful. thanks!
And also, to my understanding, a component set is basically just a pair of speakers and tweeters right? so one component set in the fronts and jus a regular pair in the back, correct?

Thanks in advance.

are you going for loud, and sounds good, or not as loud and sounds very very clear

for loud go with alpine type R front components with type R rear speakers, with a alpine mrp-f600 amp to puch them with a alpine cda-9886 headunit, that 1 step better then the one i have in my ranger and i love it

now for very very clear go with type X pro component sets all the way around with a alpine mrp-f300 amp to push them or the same amp as the others with the same headunit and kicker kq9 equalizer cause the alpines dont have good one in there headunits. they just have treble and bass, not mids or any of that

a component set is a speaker set that comes with a seperate woofer and tweeter, with a cross over so split the sound between the 2 peaces, they sound better than normal speakers and sound better with somekind of amp, and a component set is one pair of speakers, if you dont have the ssl pack then you should only need to component sets, for the 4 speakers

If you want pioneer I would go with prs-c720ts or something like that. You can find them on ebay for around $250. I would recommend a jl 300/2 on those components. I can't remember what those go for, but it shouldn't be more than 300. That will both sound very clean and be very loud.

I can't find those Pioneer components that you speak of biggie...

I think I'll go with the reccommended Alpine Type R's. One last question regarding the Amp. Should I get a 4 channel amp or 2? I was under the impression that i should get a 2 channel amp to power the front 2 components and use the Headunit's internal amp to power the rear coaxials ....

Which would sound better?

yeah, sorry I screwed up the model number. Here you go.

PIONEER PREMIER TS-C720PRS

My friend has a set and they are by far the best I've heard for the money.

I personally haven't heard a set of Type Rs that I liked, but they also were just thrown in factory locations. I think they sound kinda harsh and scratchy. Just my opinion. Everyone else seems to like them so, it was probably just the install/head unit settings that made them sound bad. I've also only heard 2 different sets. So take it for what it's worth.

As far as sounding good, that's completely up to you. I personally don't run anything in the rear, just the fronts (they dont' have speakers behind you at concerts/live performances do they?), but some people like to have the rear fill. If you want rears I would get a 4 channel amp and you can always adjust your headunit's fader to get the volume balance that you like.

Thanks for the input biggie. Those pioneers are for 6 3/4' .. Our evo's can only fit 5 3/4 right?
Anyways they are considerbly more expensive than the Type R's.. I'm not too big on audio so they'll probably be good enough.
Again, appriate the input!!!

No evo's have 6 1/2s. You'll need some kinda adapter plate (the speakers may come with them) or you can trace the stock speakers out on some 1/4 mdf and cut them out with a jig saw.
