speaker system 6 6.5

hey i would like to know if i could install 6.5" speakers in the rear doors? i already have boston acoustics components in the front and in the rear.i would like something diferent thats why i want the 6 6.5" speakers in the car. anyone done this?

I'm sure it's possible . . .I doubt anyone has done it because there is probably not a single advantage to going through all the trouble to have them in the doors instead of the deck. It will either be expensive or ugly.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want 6 6s in the car? I suppose you could use a set of components in the kick panels, 6" subs/midbass in the doors and components in the rear. Or you can rock 4 6s in the rear deck. That'd probably be easiest.

my car has 4 boston acoustic components the sx60's i have another set of components that i have never used. i have had these over a year, and i wanna hear what the sound like. they are custom made and where made by an ex Orion designer!!

Well, they probably won't sound their best with 2 other sets of components playing with them at the same time. 90% of what a speaker sounds like is the installation anyways. Rear doors are pretty much on the bottom of the list of places to mount speakers to see how they sound. I would swap them out with the front set of bostons and give them a listen!

Why waste the money to buy and install 6.5's in the back? They are just "fill" speaker s anyways. I'd put the money towards better front end equipment. I'm only running front speakers with the exception of a sub in the trunk. It would be different, but would anyone really notice unless you build out the doors?
