Solid State Head Unit (Parrot RK8200)

I'm tired of changing CDs in the damn car - has anyone installed and used this product? How's your experience?

I love the fact that it takes SD cards, no CDs, and has USB input, too.

alot of companies have decks where you can connect an ipod, usb device etc etc.
i know parrot makes awesome universal BT phone systems for cars.

I don't use cd's ever in my car (ipod and carputer) but keep in mind i do get cd copies from friends and then im glad I still have one.

I have never installed the Parrot decks, but know their hands free kits are very solid. Have you looked into the alpine iDA-X001, or any of the other ipod radios?

No, I haven't - I'll check them out, though.

The thing about the Alpine unit is it costs way more and it doesn't directly accept SD cards.

The iDA-X200 is around the same price, they also have the iDA-X300. It takes USB and does full speed ipod. You are correct though, they do not accept SD. Any reason that you want that specifically?

I hate iPods/iPhones (just my personal opinion) and I'd never use one.

I actually found something a lot cheaper (about $120 shipped) made by Clarion:

i would honestly trust a car audio company first before anything as far as music.

good luck- but like we mentioned- you could always do usb drive and connect it.

Parrot also makes wireless speakers, etc, but their main customer base is in Europe. I have a CK3100K Parrot bluetooth speakerphone which highjacks the speaker signals, mutes my Alpine stereo and uses the car speakers when I make/receive calls. Very slick. I'd trust their head unit. Plus, I believe that head unit is also a bluetooth speakerphone. Fully integrated... worth looking into.
