Where to mount this?

Anybody have a circuit breaker for there setup if so where did you mount it. I am thinking about on top of the battery cause it is the only flat surface to mount to. Clearance seems to be fine the battery holder doesn't seem to be a issue. Anybody think why this maybe a bad idea?

I don't necessarily think it's a good idea, but I can't really give you a better place off the top of my head without looking at the car. How are you planning on mounting it to the battery?

Strong double sided tape. I don't just want it to hang there.

You might try some velcro. That way you can take it off if you ever need to remove the battery.

Good idea with the velcro....I guess I will try it out I can't seem to come up with why it would be bad and I can't find anywhere else suitable to mount this thing.

I'm assuming when you said the clearance was fine, you were talking about the hood being shut. Right?

I honestly can't come up with a good reason not to do it, or a better option with out fabricating something, but it just doesn't seem like a good idea. I guess let us know how it works out.

Everytime you need to change the battery you will have to remove it.

Really the main thing I can think of is a heat issue... Yeah its under the hood where its like 220+... but every little thing helps, or hurts, in some cases. Personally I would try to find a better spot for it, but like most said I can't think of one either off the top of my head. I know you should put it as close to the source of power as possible, but what if you switch things around and put it in the back somewhere?

They're designed to be placed under the hood. It would defeat the purpose to put it elsewhere.

I thought about the side but the battery isn't flat on the sides.

Yeah what 5252 said , 18" or less from the + side of the Batt .
And IIRC the circuit breaker has alot more of a Voltage drop that a fuse set up .
So I would just skip it all together and just use a in line fuse .
