Car alarm wiring gurus!
I had purchased a viper alarm system for my car awhile back and never got it installed. I went to best buy to have them install it on my evo and they said no because it was a manual. Now I found out that noone in Springfield will install because of it being a manual. I really want it on my car for the added security and do not want to sell it to someone. I was wondering if I could install it, and just not have remote start, or if someone could still install it and have the remote start feature. I'm not super electronic savvy with cars, but my father is an electrician so I would say I know more than most about wiring. Here is the model I have.

Not here, i'm good friends with all of the install team at best buy and they won't do it even after hours if I pay them.........I could do it myself, but I would rather pay someone to do it that knows what they are doing, then for me to make a stupid mistake because I misread something.
You can install it just as an alarm without the remote start. Or you can install it with remote start, but it will start if the car is in gear and the car will definitely move and probably hit something or someone. You can get an aftermarket neutral safety switch, or make one yourself, so that the car won't start unless it's in neutral.
There are instructions all over the internet. www(dot)the12volt(dot)com is a great place to search. It isn't that hard to do. I'm actually doing my alarm right now. So far this car has been the easiest I've ever done an alarm on.

There is a company that manufactured a sensor for interfacing alarms with remote starts and cars with manual transmissions. The funny thing is most cars that are turbocharged are equipped with turbo timers anyway so you almost always leave the car in neutral to idle till the timer has counted down. If you have electrical experience it is a fairly simple install. If you need any help shoot me a PM.
