EVO8 --> 2G ECU Swap nearly done...Need HELP!
EVO8 --> 2G ECU Swap nearly done...Need HELP!
I've attempted to put an Evo 8 ECU (USDM) into my '99 eclipse gsx. Everything is working perfect, with the exception of the climate controls. I get no air and no heat when I turn the fans up (although the A/C condensor sounds like it is turning on).
Based on what I've read/found online, here's the pinouts for the two ECUs, followed by the pins I swapped/changed. Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated, as I'd hate to ditch this project just because I can't get the climate controls to work.

The color-coated pins indicate those that I swapped/changed/disconnected:
Swapped pins 8 and 22
Connected pin 32 from the EVO ECU to pin 20 on the vehicle wiring for the eclipse
Connected pin 34 from the EVO ECU to pin 21 on the vehicle wiring for the eclipse
Disconnected pin 87
Disconnected pin 42

Ok I need some clarity to help you out, first, you dont turn a condensor on, so are you speaking of the compressor? Second, are you saying your blower motor works but there is just ambient air coming through, or that you have no air flow at all? Let me know.
Thanks for offering your help...greatly appreciated. I recently just swapped a few pins around (updated in the diagrams/post above), so please take a look at those when you get a chance.
And yes, I was referring to the compressor. The blower motor is now working, but the air is always completely hot no matter what the temperature controls are set to, and regardless of if the A/C is on/off.
Just to check, today I plugged my stock 2G ecu back into my stock wiring harness, and the climate is behaving the same way. Blower motor works, but the air is always completely hot. A/C compressor seems to turn on when i press the A/C button, but the temp still stays hot.
Any ideas?
Well its not a blower motor issue, he said it works. If the a/c blows, the blower motor is fine... I'd say try and look and see that your a/c compressor is actually coming on. If the air is hot then your compressor isnt working, most likely, or you have a blend door/ diverter door problem, but I really don't think thats the case. Another problem I have is that the usdm evo wiring diagram says just a/c, not for compressor, so that may be your problem. Also, I notice that there is a second a/c switch on the evo ecu, I would try to jump the pins for a/c switch 1 and 2, jump the pin 45 so that pin 45 from the car is powering both pin 45 and 24 on the evo ecu. Now I have never done this or dealt with this so, do this at your own risk. I imagine that this is only a sensor circuit. check your voltage from pin 45 from the vehicle and see what voltage it is at. I would try it personally but I don't know exactly what your dealing with. If you have no voltage on pin 45, I would diagnose that issue aswell. Lemme know what you find.
