AVIC-f900BT install questions
im going to attempt to install it in my 05 evo on saturday, any tips or install instructions you guys can give me? is it any different from installing a single din CD player with just the harness and pluging it in? any info would be great thanks
Pretty straight forward install as a regular single din CD player, There are the vehicle speed sensor wire, and parking brake wire you should hook up . You just have to run the GPS antenna and microphone for the bluetooth. Btw, The 2.0 firmware update does take a good amount of time till the unit is updated.
Great unit you picked up there, I just don't like how you have to be at a stand still and have the parking brake engaged to be able to use most of the nav features (Unless you bypass it of course).

I install these things daily. If you want to be able to watch dvds while driving you have to repin the aux harness. There is a yellow black wire you physically have to move from one pin of the harness to another. Also the unit is pretty slow booting up. I believe all the newer units come with a firmware upgrade to spped the process up a little bit.

The yellow/black wire needs to removed with the pin attached. Look for the empty hole between two black wires insert the yellow/black wire in that slot. Than ground the wire with the green parking brake wire to the same ground you are using for the radio. Should work great for the navi and dvds
thanks, i shall attempt it. looking at the instructions it does seem a tad more difficult then i thought. right now im trying to move the HVAC controls downward but im already having a problem with that. lol oh well if it doesnt get done today then for sure it should be done by tomorrow
