recommendations on good nav/dvd

Im looking to install a navigation/dvd system in the car. Which ones are good? I want to keep the price under 400. The cheaper the better but I still want something with good quality. I was looking at this one but I dont really know

will that fit in the evo???? It kind of looks like a cheap PSP. Why not just a portable navigation?

haha it kinda does. Well i was just gonna get a portable nav. But then I kinda decided why not try and get a dvd, mp3, and all that in one type of thing. I dunno I was just seeing what people recommend and if the price was right i would go for it.

Yea that is a good idea. If your not looking for any type of brand name then just get the normal 7 inch since i doubt that one will fit. If you are looking for brand name then $400 might not get it.

No that unit will fit, it's a din unit but the face is bigger. It sticks out some to clear the opening. They sell it at Walmart. People bring that thing in all the time for install at the shop I work at. But the words Quality and under $400 for a dvd/nav unit will not go together. The GPS on that unit is crap. The screen is tiny and it's what you would expect from a off brand Walmart radio. I would suggest going for a portable Garmin unit or saving and buying a Pioneer or Kenwood flip out.

im in the same boat as well, im about to try doing a double din nav/dvd/ cd mp3 player in the car just i want the best bang for my buck. i have been eyeing the pioneer F series but they are a tad pricey if you want the one that can play dvds. any recommendations price wise what is good? i mean i have always been a pioneer man all my vehicles have had single din headunits but this is a lil different.

I'm selling a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 (double din) upgraded to the Z3 model thats bypassed, as well as the Orbital Double Din kit that everyone's dying for.

the new alpine double din... for like 899 then then the alpine blackbird 699 portable GPS that inserts into the double din. or the new pioneer 900bt double din. - that has MSN direct, parriot bluetooth, navi ipod usb and everything else you could want for like 1000. those are all retail prices too im sure there cheaper online.
