Starter Issues

Ok So last night the car wont start just clicking when u turn the key.
So i hook up another battery and after a while it turns over. shut it off and wont start. So i put the battery on a charger over night. put it back this morning and it stars right up.

About to leave work and it wont start, get a jump from a friend it still wont turn over. Someone suggested the starter and that i should beat on the starter, did that no luck.

Any suggestions ?

It could be a possibility that the hold in winding in the starter solenoid is going bad, but that doesn't like its the problem. First, I would do a parasitic drain test on the battery and see if there is any draw out of specs. I'd say anything over about 50 to 80 milliamps and that is what is killing your battery. Another thing it could be is that your battery is just old and tired and just doesn't want to hold a charge anymore. I dunno how old your battery is though. Let me know if you have any more questions and let me know the outcome.

To be honest I really don't think its the starter, but that doesn't mean it isn't. I'd do a parasitic drain test first thing...
