Most alarms pull very little current while in standby... I think the LED pulls the most and thats hardly anything at all...

I would say no more than your average car stereo keeping the time & presets.

I wouldnt worry about it.

you should have no problem. like brandnew says, the led is going to be the thing that draws power, and it draws little power at that. unless you plan on arming your car for over a month, and not drive it at all, that could be a problem. but then you wouldnt let your car sit for that long even if it didnt have an alarm

I know vipers used to reduce the amount of led flashes after the car had been sitting awhile to reduce battery drain.

If the alarm is sitting at idle, meaning just the led light flashing. You should have no problem. If the alarm is constantly going off, then yes it will eat the small battery faster than a regular battery. Depends on what battery u get. I run the stinger that has 900 cold cranking amps. Haven't had any problems, yet.

According to the manual it's half the rate, which I take to mean half as many times as usual.

Good info guys I really appreciate the info, LED's usually take about 2v of energy, if the lights flashing I'm sure it doesn't use much battery power at all.

Any suggestions on the Alarm System, I don't want something that's gonna add a bunch of weight to the car.
