Backup camera installed in trunk key hole?

Has anyone done as the title says? I searched and found a regular lancer, but was wondering if it has been done on an Evo. A shot of it would be great, as well as the make and model camera used. I thought this is a nice alternative compared to the hidious chrome lock. Why did both Mitsu and Subaru both do this offset lock release on their cars? Couldn't they at least make it centered???

I too am thinking of doing this on my ralliart... I would suggest going with a better quality camera though. The wireless backup cameras with the screens are just garbage... believe me... I've had to install them for customers who bring them in and they work but not great.

I would suggest looking into a small bullet style camera or a small enough clamshell, waterproof mount such as Eclipse, Alpine, Pioneer, etc... they're not cheap... but there's a reason why... good quality day and night.

Another thing I've heard some people doing is taking a ps3 webcam or something along those lines and making it work (ie. custom mount and wiring).

Hope this helps,

Nick
