Wiring experts, chime in here...
I need to tap into 12V for some lighting I'm adding to my 2006 IX MR. I was thinking of splicing into a wire for this.
I would need a wire that has 12V all of the time. (Key off/on, or engine off/on)
It would be necessary that this was somewhere inside of the cabin.
I would like to avoid adding wires in the fuse box because it gets sloppy looking quickly.
Also something that is already fused would be nice.
Any recommendations?

I'm hooking up some lights that will trigger based on the input of transistors. They will not drain all of the time as the transistor acts as a switch. It would be easy if the wire I can tap into is somewhere near the dash, or under it.

Why not just run a new wire straight from the battery, fuse it yourself, and run it into the interior? It wouldn't look sloppy if you did it correctly and you wouldn't be hacking up your stock wiring.

I tapped into the fused side of the defogger wiring. It is constantly 12V all the time. I might change this in the future but after doing about 40-50 hours on this mod and finally finishing I am beat!
