stock alarm help
So I purchased my 06 Evo a few months back, and got a few parts I decided to install this weekend. First thing is my boost gauge and A pillar pod. I unhooked the positive battery terminal just in case to get all the wiring done prior to testing the gauge. Now the wiring is all finished I put the terminal back on and hit the unlock button for the alarm, lights flash and doors unlock. Now when I open the door the damn alarm goes off and the horn echoes throughout my garage prolly pissin off my neighbors. Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong? Is there a way to unhook the horn so the damn thing doesnt go off? I'm a noob to the Evo's too so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I never knew there was even an option for an alarm for the Evo.

Is there a red button on your key fob?
Im not positive, Its probably aftermarket cause I bought the car used, there's a flashing red light with a pushbutton behind it to the right of my rheostat. Before I used to "arm" the car with the remote and use the key in the door and open it and nothing ever happens. Now it seems to be working even if I "disarm" it. I just need to find the horn and disable it if I can just to figure it out. Oh the remote I got with the car is just a simple lock/unlock for the doors. No panic button or whatever.
Update
Everything was disconnected, only thing that wasnt is grounding cable to well a bolt on the clutch pedal but the other end isnt hooked up. Horn still goes off when I unlock the car with the remote and open the door. It hasn't done this before since I had the car. Anyone know where the horn is located so I can unhook it so at least I can take it to someone smarter to figure this out cause I'm stumped.

you def either wired something wrong or disturbed some other wiring somewhere.
Awesome thanks a lot. I detached what I put on as far as wiring goes for the boost gauge although I left all the wires in place. Ill go have it checked then. Thanks again.
should be fuse #7 in the underhood box, the cover should have a diagram, it's a 10amp fuse. If uncertain pull one fuse at a time, making sure you put them back right, and test the horn till it's inop.

I think the alarm needs to be reprogrammed. My dad's Lexus had an aftermarket alarm installed that went crazy when we pulled the battery and reconnected it.
Edit: Nothing was done to any wiring - we just checked spark plugs. The alarm simply decided to freak out when power was disconnected and reconnected.

A lot of times on the 1st and 2nd gen TEL's the stock alarm would go off even with the aftermarket alarms on the cars. You might want to try and unlock the door with the actual key and see if it still does the same thing, just a thought. I don't know for sure if it's the same for Evo's or not. Also, when you do any work, unhook the ground wire not the power wire for future reference, DC current runs from negative to positive
