Always planned on doing that, but was never sure if it would fit without cutting things up and finding out it wouldn't. Kudos.

Which Nuvi is that?

Here's what I got from PMing the OP about a write up:

I didn't make any measurements to cut the top all I did was make a cardboard replica of the nuvi that I tapped in and kept cutting little by little to make everything clear ok. I cut down the nuvi mount and glued that in so I could still remove the unit for updates or to use in different cars. I had to space it out a little though to make room for the usb cable that plugs in the back for power. Any other GPS than a Nuvi 200 will be a little different in size and that one barely fit.
