Anyone ever added a 2nd battery under the hood?

I was wondering if anyone has ever added a 2nd battery under the hood and where at? Reason I am asking is because I put a big stereo system in the Evo and need a 2nd battery but have no room in the trunk because of all the fiberglass work for the stereo equipment.

not to be rude, but most people here on evom don't install huge stereo equipment in their evos. Im guessing yours must be for shows and sound competitions tho? Good luck installing another battery under the hood as there is little room for the factory one already in there. You could always pull the back seats to get behind the fiberglass into the trunk through the cabin area to mount another battery.

The only place I can think you could place a small battery is behind the back seats where your rear speakers are; Right under the rear windshield.

+1

I admit some teens are pretty responsible, but they are truly very few and even then they do things they should not do.

I hope you everything works out for you, seen too many wrecked cars of all types too not have concern about this mixture.

Let's keep this thread on topic please. This thread is not about his sons age, it's about the sound system he wants to put in the car.

I'd suggest under the seats. You could easily stack some small Kinetik batteries under there. Plenty of room for amps so two batteries shouldn't be an issue. Wire routing would be a nightmare, however.

Is all the equipment purchased and the system in place? I'm asking, because a big system doesn't have to use a second battery, if configured with low current draw in mind.

I would just go bigger alternator or maybe you could fit another battery in the trunk where the stock reservoir for washer fluid is
