Hey guys,
Well my ac is working but it only blows air out the defrost vents on the topside of the dash and not out of the front vents. Anyone encounter this problem? Any help
would greatly appreciated.

 

does your heat come out the proper vents?

 

I dont think so , it only blows out , closest to the front window. Which i think is for defrost if im not mistaking, maybe the hvac controls has a short or something. Or a damper door? Havent messed with it , it started last summer, it worked fine before that.

 

Its called the "mode select" door the "blend door" is for temperature settings. Usually on most vehicles the default setting is defrost vents, so in worst case you can still defrost the windshield.

If I remember right you can see the mode door actuator if you remove the glove box. It will be to the left side of the glove box hole if you will. Try selecting different settings while watching the little white arm that goes into the HVAC box to see if it is or isnt working.

if its a evo 8 the cable binds. had to take mine all aprt and been working good ever since. good luck

 

Thanks Ill def check it out soon. I did put some guages there and relocated the cd player so I couldve possibly messed it up then.Hopefully a easy fix.
