Placement of Sub

Hey,
I was thinking about where the placement of a sub should be good in an evo. Do you guys think a sub put into the back seat armrest compartment would work? Or any other good placement ideas.
Thanks

In the trunk, facing towards the back. thats what I've done and always told it was the best to do.

Depends on what kinda box you are thinking of going with. If you are in a ported box with the port on the front facing the same way as the speaker, throw it in the trunk and point it toward the front of the car. You can hear it just fine inside the car without rattling your trunk off it's hinges.

That's how I rolll anyway.

^^ You wont get optimal output pointing toward the driver. Especially with a ported setup. The further the sound has to travel the louder it becomes. If you want felt bass at the drivers seat from a small system, point it away from the driver. This is how all pro setups are done.

^Ok, and I don't doubt that you are right, I just know I hear it more, feel it more, and it doesn't rattle my trunk as much my way.

What is the objective here? Install a sub for what purpose with what expectations? Are we talking amplitude or response? There are pretty important factors to define.

You can use the stock sub box and put another sub in it? What size?

There is no cost-effective aftermarket driver that can make use of the SSL enclosure without modifications, if that's what you mean. At least not to the point where it's worth doing.
