Evo9 headlights in evo8 problem?

I put Evo 9 HID lights in my 8, (HID standard as well). Plugs all matched up but the amber passenger side light (the ones that come on in the first headlight on posistion before the haedlights come on) does not want to work.

It is only the passenger side that is out... I tried multiple bulbs but no luck. My question is: Is the wiring the same in 8s and nines? If I can confirm this I can focus trouble shooting elswhere.

Thanks!

The wiring is completely the same. I run IX headlights on my car with no issues.

I'm a subie owner so I really don't know much. I know there is a difference between the VIII and IX because of the front bumper that doesn't have the triangle in the grill. But are the headlights any different?

Only difference between headlights are the HID ones to the Non-HID ones...

Then I'm confused because the OP said he has HIDs standard in his car too. So there was no point in swapping to these lights then right?

There are many possible reasons for installing 9 lights in an 8 that came with standard HID lights. Mine were F'd up in several different ways. Bought a pair of POS Evo 9 lights and I have 1 USDM HID light and a JDM HID light.

Trying to piece together 1 clean working set from the above mess.

The 8/9 harnesses are the same but HID/non HID, USDM/JDM (no leveling feature) harnesses are different.
