Key fob retro fit?

I used the search feature and didnt find any topics covering it on here. I am wondering if anyone has had success swapping their key + key fob setup for an all in one key/fob setup like used on the non SSS equipped Evo X's. I could use a spare key and fob since I only have one right now and thought it would be cool to reduce some key chain clutter at the same time.

like the one pictured to the right in this image:

The biggest problem is that with the Subaru keys, you're able to swap the receiver in the car. The fob and receiver need to match up, and by being able to swap them in a Subaru, you're able to use many different fobs

I found that on eBay. Not sure what its from never seen another one. Fob internals fit perfect and there's a little slot for the transponder chip as well. I haven't got a blade cut for it yet but I have faith it will work when I do

easiest way would be to find someone with an X and try and program their fob to your car. if you can do that, you can use that key. if not, you can't
