I need help with mystery switch on center console.

First off. All of the questions and issues I've had with my "new" Evo IX have been answered previous posts and I really appreciate that! However after taking the car home I noticed a switch on my center console:

I called the dealer and asked about it, nobody gave me a definitive answer on what it does but they said it might "increase the boost"
I've turned it on with the car running, no explosions, no noticeable changes at all.

I know it's a long shot, but I just wanted to run this by you guys to see if this switch would look like a familiar spot for a particular function.

Switch between fuel or tunes or both, meth, passenger eject button ... who knows...Flex Capacitor ON switch. That's it.

Follow the wires behind the dash to see where they lead to and you might have a better idea what it was set up for.

GL!

It's not a factory switch. As stated above, it could do just about anything. Does the veh have any after market lights? Follow wires and report back. Knowing where they lead will give us guessers a much better chance at getting it right.

Yeah follow the wires like the others say. I've heard of people flipping 93 to E85 maps that way though there are better ways. I see you have an after market radio maybe its some stereo crap. For your sake I hope its not a ghetto radiator fan switch or NOS.

Pull off the 3 knobs for the AC controls and there are screws behind there. Take them out and that gray housing can be pulled straight out. Careful so you don't pull the wires out of the little light or the switch and make it worse.

^ I agree. It looks like a "ghetto radiator fan switch". But if it doesn't do sh*t, ditch it.

That radio plays dvd's and most radios that play dvd's require the green wire to be wired up to the parking brake. One way around that is to put a switch in that is wired to ground and to that green wire. Try playing a dvd and if it won't show on the screen flip that switch and I bet the movie will show up on the screen afterwards.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I still haven't had time to open up the dash to see where the wire leads. However I think I've found what the switch does. With it off, the car will not boost past .5-.6 bar. Turning the switch on allows the car to reach full boost
Not sure why the previous owner put this in, but I assume it's so the engine isn't pushed too hard until it's fully warmed up?

I'd be very careful assuming that's all it does.

yah almost certainly a switch to change between two different sets of maps. One might be a low octane tune or something. Definitely confirm where the wire is going though.
