Evo 8 click but no start

To start off; battery, terminals, alternator and starter are all brand new and checks out to be good. I'm only getting 7 volts to my starter. Haven't had much time to thoroughly check everything. Car at times will start with no problem but others will just click. I can click until it does start and everything runs fine. Suggestion?

Double check the wiring of all your 'brand new' parts. I'm sure something could be loose or possibly grounding out... make sure everything is where it is supposed to be.

I tightened ignition switch and it seemed to have helped but didn't fix. I'm gearing towards starter relay maybe?

I would say you may have a bad ground. Or even maybe a bad starter. Do you know how to bench test a starter? If not auto zone can do it for you also you should have more then 7volts to the starred. Is you're battery fully charged .even if its new and you been trying to start the car you may have drained the battery.

Do you know if your immobilizer is working do you have another key. Can you have a runner shut it off.

Don't understand. And like I said earlier. Batterty is fine as well as starter. Grounds are good. Started up all day with new relay. Gonna wait a couple more days.

Ok, let me save you all the trouble of pulling out your hair... I had this same issue last year. At times it would just click every time I turned the key until it finally caught and started just fine. I changed the starter, the wiring, the relay, the ignition switch, added more grounds, etc.....

The fix? was a .50 cent 12v relay from Radio Shack.. What was happening was that the starter wasn't getting a full signal from the signal wire when I turned the key. The starter needs a minimum amount of current to "kick it over" and for whatever reason mine wasn't sending enough by itself. So, I installed a simple 12v relay inline on the trigger wire going to the starter and the problem was fixed.. Hope this helps!

Thanks! I'll be sure to try that out.
