Timer to start your car

Ok,this is not a typical question.its about diesel semi truck but could be used on regular car.
Im looking for some kind of timer that could start truck/car at needed time.id like to start my truck on cold nights so it could idle before i actualy can drive it.i can leave it idling during the night but it burns around $30 in 8 hours.so i thought why not to install some device that could start my truck around 3am and idle for about an hour cause i start at 6am.i found some fancy remote starts like clifford but its $500.i dont need that. All i need is simple timer with ability to start motor at desired time.thanks all.oh and btw my truck parked 30 miles away from where i live.i wish i coul start my truck using smart phone but probably its not going to be money friendly device.

Why not just get a block heater? How warm does the truck need to be before you can drive it?

Also a diesel truck forum is going to be much better for answering this than EvoM probably

Viper and Clifford both have remote start via mobile phone apps I believe

I have no power source so I can plug the block heater.truck could be driven right after the engine starts but it's about low temps like around 12F when you can crank until batteries dies but you won't start cause oil is too thick.i know Diesel engine forums could have an answer but I thought there's plenty of skillful ppl might have an answer as well.i search today a lot about that device but no luck.

so....get a block heater?

I don't see the issue here. You say it's too cold to start the engine anyways, so what good is a remote start going to do you if the car is too cold to start anyhow? Block heaters exist for a reason and diesel guys use them for this exact reason. You might need a long extension cord or something, but trying to reinvent the wheel is usually a fruitless effort

I hear you but block heater needs power and in the parking lot around 80 company trucks.so no power outlets here.my point is that at the end of the day after i shut my truck off block stays worm for about 5 hours.then it gets cold but oil is not thick and you can fire it up.but tricky part gets around 3-4 in the morning.thats where i need to fire up motor again, before 3am.i did a lot of research and i think i need 12v timer and rpm switch.timer it self could do a trick but will frie the starter.i need something that could release the starter after engine is fired up.its invented already but it sells with whole fancy and pricey alarm kit for like $500.but thanks for replaying.i wish more ppl chime in with their thoughts.

$500 isn't much for what you're looking for. That's the typical price for remote start alarm
