Question Multimeter

Looking to buy a multi-meter... Anyone know of a good brand and model? I don't really mind paying abit more for a good quality multi-meter. Currently having battery troubles with my evoIV so i thought i better invest in one.

+1 on Flukes which set the standard. That said, if they don't suit your budget, I love my B&K Precision which comes a bit cheaper. It's got a great compact size, and hasn't ever failed to give me accurate readings in the five years I've had it ...

As the others said, can't go wrong with Fluke, I've had many, I currently have an 87V and an old 112 I think. If you are on a tighter budget and want a lot of features for your money I've owned two of these E-Bay UNI-T UT71E meters and I've been very happy with them. Lost the first one while on a work trip, it was stolen from my checked baggage so I bought another. If you just need the basics the UT71E as well as the 87V may be overkill.

I've also had a few BK Precision products (LCR meters) and they have been good quality.

What are you going to be using it for? Do you know what specific features you would like?

Been using the one that goes free what seems like monthly at harbor freight. I would say just get the free one if you just using it on a random project once in a blue moon and use that money on other tools/parts.

I've got a half dozen or so of those cheap HF meters too. They actually work pretty well for low voltage projects. Automotive is perfect. I don't recommend using them on your home mains voltage as they are unsafe over 120vac.
