Overcharging

So yesterday while heading to work early in the morning I noticed my batt and brake light going on and off very briefly. Not sure what voltage it reached yesterday but it was high enough to trigger those lights. I didn't notice it on my way home but this morning I didn't get the lights but voltage would climb up between 15-16v intermittently. When I parked it hovered around 15 then dropped down to the normal range. Voltage regulator going out? Or is the outside temperature affecting it? I read something about the alternator on Merlins tuning guide and mentions how the voltage output changes and it can be temp related but haven't found the table, doubt it's this but worth a shot. What else can I look at or how do I go about troubleshooting?

it can be up to 15.1v normally. if it's much higher than that, it could be the regulator, yep.

It's definitely higher. I am getting spikes up to 16 and that was triggering the battery and brake lights. So get one from Mitsubishi or is the rock auto denso reman a good sub? From my understanding denso makes them for Mitsubishi.

i get my non-high-performance parts from RA. they carry a lot of DSG (or whatever the letters are), etc which are all OEM suppliers anyway, for the most part. or yeah, you could go with the Denso, etc. stuff too. can't go wrong there.
i didn't realize our lights came on during an overcharge, though. that's good to know.
