Ignition Issue, Delayed Start

I assume this is ignition but when I get in my car and turn the car to start position, nothing happens. Lights don't dim, no click sound, literally nothing happens. I can usually try again 3-5 times then BAM it works. Does this sound like an ignition problem? It's been this way for ~10 months, it doesn't really bother me unless I'm running late but I might sell my car soon and I don't want to explain that to any perspective buyers, especially if it can be easily fixed.

2003 Evolution VIII with 154,000 miles.

Is the trigger wire (to solenoid) getting anything when you crank/turn key?

I had this issue on my car a while back where I would have to turn my key fast enough to beat the switch from moving. the above fix solved my issue. other things to look for is corrosion on your signal wire on your starter as well as the positive terminal on your battery. take apart the positive terminal and clean up the connectors and see if that helps.
