Defi gauges help

Hey guys,

I think I’m having an issue with my Defi gauges. I have a set of bf advance gauges and when I turn the key, they all light up, but then they stop and go black. No needle sweep or opening sequence either. I followed a wiring guide on the forum and thought everything was sorted correctly.

The engine and ecu are currently out of the car so the gauges aren’t hooked up to the sensors. Would that be the reason? I would think that they should still stay lit and have their opening sequence even without be connected to the sensors.

any help would be appreciated. Just trying to get as much done while I wait for my engine to come back from the machine shop.

If they're not connected to sensors they should still do the full sweep, go dark, then light back up. One of the lights will start blinking (warning light I think). Source - had a line that got severed and the gauge still went through it's startup and shut down sequences.

Maybe there's an issue with the control unit?

yeah, that’s what I’m worried about. And only one of the 2 metered link ports seem to have the gauges light up. The other does nothing.. man I hope I didn’t get a bum unit..
