Need Help Identifying Cable Size

Does anyone happen to know the sizes of these 2 cables, or at least what size would be acceptable to splice to? They originally ran to the fusible link on the Evo 8 battery, but I need to extend them a bit to reach a relocation bracket I bought. Picture for reference; one is black/blue the other is white/red:

Thanks in advance.

Rule of thumb for electrical is you can always go up a size, never down. Not sure what the size because for some reason i cant see the picture. But if its a battery cable, probably would be 4 gauge or maybe a 2 gauge. I always use solder and heat shrink when making a new cable never leaving exposed wire. Most auto parts stores will sell you quality cable by the foot or in a roll.

Thanks for the insight. I think I'll try using 4 gauge if nobody seems to know for sure, since the main battery cable is 2 gauge, and it doesn't appear to be as big.

I believe one cable runs to the alternator, not sure where the other goes. Thanks again.

I just re-read my post and i wanted to clarify one thing that may be confusing, in the case you didn't know.

With electrical wires, the higher the gauge number, the smaller the wire. It doesnt make sense lol but thats what someone decided to call it. For example, a 10 gauge wire is smaller than an 8 gauge wire. 8 gauge smaller than a 6 gauge so on and so forth.

So if the cable is 4 gauge, a suitable replacement would be 2 gauge. Smaller in "number" but bigger in actual size of the cable. Hope that clears it up.

I understood, thanks for clarifying, though. Ordered some new cables, thanks again.
