Whatup,

Yeah, the first batch (like mine) can have this problem, it's well documented here if you do a search. There are a few fixes, such as an extra gasket at the cat, stiffer bushings, or using an aftermarket highflow cat that may be a little bit longer. There is a revised version of the Helix that is supposed to address the problem. May want to check with the vendor for a replacement or help.

I know Gruppe-s has been very accomodating.

I have an aftermarket cat and the rubbing is minimal so it doesn't bother me.

Take care,

James,

I must suggest to you the system I run, the B&B. Even with a test pipe, you won't find this system particularly loud. My car might've seemed a bit louder to you mostly cause of the o2 elim dp along with the new manifold and turbokit. I think I have a video clip somewhere of when I got it first installed

I sold my Buschur setup for the Helix. Reason one was the slip fit of Buschurs. I kept getting exhaust leaks no matter how much I tightended them. Not knocking the exhaust at all, it kicks ***. I drive on a dirt road every weekend, 8 miles long, to get to my parents ranch so I wanted something with flange fit, isntead of slip fit. And for some strange reason my Buschur droned like hell at high RPM's. Like it was hitting something and making a god awfull rattling noise.

Shane, good advice, but the Helix is what Im looking for. Its got the straightest design and has a bolt in silencer. SO if you know anyone looking for an exhaust, Im making a good deal of it.

Hmmm... too bad. I love my Buschur with the Magnaflow. It has the sweetest sound...

Just for you guys who think that the Helix is quite, there is a post by coolguy949 who got the decibel readings for a bunch of different exhausts.

He ran all of the cars at 5300 RPM and the helix was the loudest at 101 decibels. Just thought I'd let you know if you want a quite exhaust this is probably not the one you want.

Good point, James. I'm sure you will have no problem selling the system

I'm gone . Got my trusty laptop to feed my Evom addiction

The trade is hopefully going to happen with this other guy from Wayne when I get back. If he doesn't go through with this, the EMS has your name on it buddy

I believe that post is from NorCalEvo.net. I was actually there at that meet when they did the decible testing for various exhaust. From what I saw, The EVO with Helix TB that had the dB meter went thru the roof (101dB) was because it also had a straight pipe. With stock cat in place, its sounds cool at idle and not so intrusive at WOT. Very nice rumble sound.

Buschur makes the most power and is lighter, FACT.

If you have an unused Buschur Racing exhaust for your EVO with our lightweight muffler just call us and arrange to send it back in, I will swap you for the Magnaflow muffler and you can bolt it on. The Magnaflow is MUCH quieter.
