ticking in my valvetrain

Here is the problem... at 1st after my cams are installed I have tickings when the car is cold and after researching I found out it was just the lash adjustment or lifters. BUT now I get these tickings that doesn't go away even when warmed up. The ticking speeds up as the RPM rises (1400+rpm).

The tickings sound, sounds like something metalish bouncing around in my valve cover. The ticks are not loud at all, not loud enough to be heard while driving, it can only be heard once I drive into a quite indoor garage with the window down but it is still very very faint. I can also hear it if I open my hood and rev it slowly. Is this just normal valvetrain noise? If so, why didn't i have it b4? It seems like it appeared once i set my cam gears to -4,-4. Now, I have the cam gears set back to -3,-3 and then -2,-2 and it is still there. Can setting it at -4 cause my valves to slap my piston and created this noise?

Maybe i had it b4 but just never realized it, is it normal to have ticks that speeds up with rpm that doesn't go away even when warmed up?

I am running -5 -5 on my cams with Intake 264 and Exhaust 272 with HKS cams. I have the same ticking. I have just written it off as normal valve train noise. My settings are the normal Vishnu tuning settings. I know they don't half-*** their testing and wouldn't put a customers car in jeopardy. So I cannot say for sure but I am not worried about the ticking.

So you have this tick that doesn't go away? Even once warmed up?

i have hks cams and i can hear my valve train tick when the engine is cold but when it warms it it goes away. i have read some post about people having their valve train tick after they put on the hks cams. apparently, this is normal after you put in aftermarket cams.

Yeah, I know it is some what normal to have ticks when cold, but I'm wondering if anyone have ticks after they warm up and the tick's speed increases with RPM (1400+) TIA

yep, I have the ticking too... it happens at RPMs just above idle until about 2k RPMs, warm or cold. It may happen at higher RPMs as well, but I can't hear it.

I have it, my buddy with his 272's has it, no big deal. It's the stinkin lifters, was a problem with DSM's.
