Stock boost restrictor pill question?
Leave it there. Don't take it out. Only I believe people who uses Vishnu Xede should take it out and store the pill in a very safe place because the Xede has a boost controller built-in. When it gets colder here...such as Buffalo, u'll probably get a nice fuel cut and a nice boost spike. I do not recommend taking it out unless u have an EBC. For an MBC, leave it. An EBC can control any spikes. I have an HKS EVC so I still have my pill in there.
You should taper a bit.
If you take it out, your boost will hold till redline. If you leave it in, you'll spike at 19 then taper to 16 at redline.
IMO if you have fuel management in place, take it out. If you don't then keep it in.

Hey, any of you guys have the vacuum hose with the restrictor pill inside? I'm in need of one. Utec needs it. I threw mine away when I installed the Greddy EBC. Now that I need it, can't find that **** anywhere. I'll pay for the shipping and everything else. Thx in advance for any help.

I have found out from testing not guessing, like some. That WITHOUT the factory pill you will see boost spikes and tapering at redline. I reinstalled the factory pill and boost steady and constant with my MBC from perrin. It holds 21 psi to redline.

The EVO runs into the 10's in stock form on the top end. The extra boost pulls extra air through the MAF, thus increasing fuel as well. I think it's more of a question as to whether it can make improved repeatable power with higher boost, etc. The taper is built in also to keep a better margin of safety out of the box.

Are you talking about both restrictors?
Ok, the pill can't make it taper off....thats not possible i don't think. the ECU is what does that....the stock solenoid or something won't let the boost past a certain point at a certain RPM. the pill acts as a trick(the same way a boost controller works). it takes what would be 20psi and blocks some of the air so that the solenoid reads 18.
I know when you add boost, you need to add fuel. BUT, i don't see why they are cutting boost at high RPMs.
