Dude that is funny . . . AND TRUE! I'm sure they install that turbo inlet clamp when the motor is dangling around on a hoist, once it's in the engine bay it's a real stinker to get to.

Also be careful when removing the 10mm nuts that hold the MAF to the airbox. That whole piece is made of recyled paper / plastic material and easily fractured. The stud has an oval head on it to keep it from spinning and mine broke off part of the airbox when removing the last nut.

Also maybe I would get away from the car or close the hood when unbolting the MAF deal. When mine broke it actually ended up about 6 feet away, not good if it goes in the wrong hole!

Good luck!

There are several people who have already proved you wrong, so please enlighten us...

after i put mine on, the car stalls sometimes if you totally let off the gas... mpg is worse... i threw on espilar cat back and mpg is even worse....

ecu is being sent to dynoflash next week... al assures me that once i put the reflashed ecu in all problems will be solved with a 20hp gain, we'll see when i get it back...

Wrong!! The HKS RS Intake does make power. Lemme find my scan of My dyno run with just the intake and you will see a 15whp improvement over my stock baseline run.

Did you reset the ECU when you did the install?

Is the MAF facing the right direction?

Are all your connections tight and unrestricted?

A proper install with this intake does tend to confuse the MAF sensor when it sees an increase in airflow, but resetting it should have solved the problem.

you NEED to get your ecu tuned via reflash or s-afc 2 if you want to see any gains from the intake. Otherwise you prolly will feel a slight gain but will actually have a loss. Also, just use common sense and youwon't break your airbox.

so i just got the hks rs intake and i had a question about changing filters. do you just put the new one in or do you have to dress it with some liquid(i dunno what kind, i just remember reading about it) to help it filter the air better?

You can only test if it makes power on a dyno, and yes, it does, probably because of the free flowing filter. But as soon as it starts sucking in hot air from under the hood while driving, the gains will probably be negated.
