Exclamation Engine Problems?

I have an 03 evo and last week I was on the highway and went to hit the gas in 5th gear well something weird happened the rpms went up real fast then droped again. Well since then I notice it all the time. It also happens in 3rd and 4th gear when im cruising and decide to hit the gas with out down shifting. Does anyone know what that is or has had the same problem. I dont think it is the clutch feels like the engine.

If the rpm's go up, your clutch is slipping. 100% sure it's the clutch.

Yep, if there is a direct connection to the drivetrain (i.e. the clutch is good) then the RPM's cannot rev and then catch again. The connection is broken, and that connection is your clutch. Welcome to the club.........

Mitsu is not being cheap they are being smart. The whole reason they put restrictors and a cheap clutch is to save the drivetrain. Once you take these restrictions out and add a high performance clutch is where you hear all these reports of broken transfercases.

Now if you were Mitsu would you want to keep replacing transmission and Transfercases or would you want to replace a clutch?

Oh and as far as a clutch depending on how much HP & Torque you have will depend on what clutch you should get. Really i would tell you to get the ACT Street Disk or the RRM Street Disk. If you go with a 4 Puck or 6 Puck you are asking for trouble. Same with the Twin and Tripple Disks. Dont get me wrong i love the Twin and Tripple disks but if it is not needed you should not get it. The ACT and RRM will not hurt any of your driveline parts.
