one of my close buddies just got an sti, and hes been talking about smoking my evo. So i no i can most likely take him becuz im a good driver, but so is he. So my question is what is one mod that i can do to my bonestock evo to almost guarantee a win when we race. Hopefully the modification is not to expensive...any suggestions

 

Boost controll and some race gas. Crank it up and see what happens.....

 

my buddy has an 05' he said the same thing to me about the evo. he still cant beat my car. its in the driver, stock for stock that is.

 

add a turboback and a mbc with 100 oct

I beat one and all I have is the turboback and Injen Intake. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

 

I think '05 STis are slower than '04s also.

 

05's sti are slower then 04's sti. you should beat him it will be close.

 

a 100 dollar hallman mbc will do the trick

 

i wanted to spend around 1000 within the next month or 2, but hes looking to race me in 2 weeks so i need something fast, and not to expensive -200$

 

mail in flash. Xflash from Vishnu or even dynoflash should do it

 

afcII with some settings or MBC. just because they have 29crank hp more dosent meen its alot faster its a driver against driver.

STi's suck and EVO ownz

 

Not talkin smack, but Ive yet to be beat by an STI. From a roll or otherwise, and all I have is a turbo back. I actually have the xede now also.
Most of the ones around here all have cheapo cat backs and pep boy intakes so there prolly slower than stock anyway.

Now when you start talkin Vishnu stage one for the STI its gonna be a different story. Stock for stock you should be able to take him pretty easy. Throw in a boost controller that holds 19 psi till redline and it will be no contest. You wont even need race gas.

 

Who cares about straight line anyways?

 

Obviously a few people in this thread and alot of the people I see at the track on the weekends.
