Finally Dynoed!!! On a Mustang Dyno!!

We had 4 Evo's meet up at a local AWD dyno last night. It was a mustang dyno. We had a bone stock Evo there for comparison. This dyno is notorious for reading low. All pulls were made in 4th gear.

Stock Evo: 180 awhp, 184 awhp, 182 awhp

2nd Evo: AEM, Turboback, Bushur FMIC, suction pipe, walbro, injectors, O2 housing, intake, Titanium turbo with 10.5 T housing. He spiked to 24 holding 21 at redline. (AEM tuned by Boost Solutions)

Best horsepower: 245 hp

3rd EVO: Turboback, MBC, K&N cone filter, Walbro 255, Dynoflash mail in, Super AFC2, SSBOV (21 psi), and Greddy FMIC V-SPL.

Best horsepower 246.4

4th EVO (mine): Turboback, HKS intake filter, 264 cams, walbro, Dynoflash mail in, HKS super AFR, Greddy Profec B spec 2, MR bov and Greddy FMIC V-SPL. Boost was 20.3 psi, dropping to 18.7 psi on the top end.

Best Horsepower: 264.3 awhp

It seems that the HP figures are way low. I don't remember the torque figures from memory, but the 2nd and 3rd evos where similiar, and mine was about 20 lb.ft higher. Mine was about 270 lb ft.

The stock evo, put out 184 awhp, most dynojets, they put out at least 225 awhp to 235 awhp. That would mean they all are at least 50 awhp low compared to the dynojet AWD numbers. Everyone was using straight 93 octane.

The guy entered 3250 for the weight on the cars and 12.5 hp @ 50 mph. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. The dyno was very nice and easy to use, just read real low.

Brian

Roughly,
63hp
64hp
82hp
over what the "stock" Evo dyno'd... I don't see the problem? However, the over layed plots would be nice to compare.

it's not just a flat 50hp across the board, it's a 25% increase. a bit of a difference. so a 400hp pull wouldn't equal 400+50=450, it would be 400*1.25=500. it starts to add up.
so your car lwould equal 264*1.25=330 instead of 264+50=314. that's got to be the easiest 14hp you ever made

I have the 10.5 hotside and less mods than the 2nd car, yet I make 307whp on a Dynodynamics. I believe the mustang and the DD are similar in numbers.
