Is it 'rare', or is it simply infrequently purchased? Think about that...

If you're looking for power, your money can be better spent. If not, ok.

Not nearly as rare as one might think actually. Like any other intake, it needs to be mated to a proper reflash (or UTEC, or some other means of adjusting the ecu) to see the gains. Once dialed in, it is an awesome piece

I'm happy with my HKS RS, no problems here.

I concur with Adam at Z1 - it s a great unit and has a smiliar effect on the MAF signal as the HKS intake - BOTH of which need tuning to smooth out the power band and realize the full benefit of the intake

Power wise they are very similar

The ARC has the better looking unit - but the HKS is less weight and more effective

Something to add - when I was in Florida last week doing cam install I noticed on two Evos with the RS a lot of sand getting past the HKS filters

Not to be argumentative, but a proper reflash, etc. will (better) show power gains without an aftermarket intake or any other mods. There is no means of proving this intake (or any other for that matter) improves anything on its own merits unless one can produce a dyno sheet that demonstrates a car that was already tuned gained power after adding the intake, and after the A/F was corrected to match the 'before' run (if necessary).

From what I've seen, claims of gains from most of these intakes appear to be mostly 'hot air'.
