The misfire code on my Evo was always popping up during the first 6000 miles. Since then and after many, many mods it has dissapeared. To this day I can't pinpoint as to what exactly changed that. I can recall playing with the idle settings at the throttle body and changing my plugs to a set of BPR-7es, but don't quote me on that one. I also did add about 3-4 degrees of timing at idle . It's been about 10k miles later and still no misfire code.

I have 272s and currently using the utec to tune out the idle. I never saw a cel due to cams install. I drove with it more than 300 miles and still no cell. The idle is not bad, but annoying... I dont recommend straight 272s on a daily driver...stagger setup is much better.
