I have heard a lot of talk about DSMers getting 264 intake and 272 exhaust installed. Not supposed to be a rough idle like the 272 on both. Does anyone ahve input on this for EVOs? Will it give more gains than a pair of 264s?

 

The HKS 264/272 combo runs virtually identical to the 264 set, but spools maybe 100rpm quicker and is not quite as smooth on the idle.

 

100 rpm quicker?? that doesn't seem worth it to loose the smooth idle of the 264s.
I need cams and i too was thinking about 264in 272ex setup. anyone else have input on this?

 

i have this set up, and I can say that the idle is a bit more lumpy- not anything unbearable though. proper tuning and cam gears will make your life better of course
