Hallman MBC now car cuts out at 4500rpm

Hi i installed a Hallman MBC i "T" off the intake and out to wastegate i noticed if i set it any higher then 1.0 bar it cuts in and out at 4500 rpm like a fuel cut off feeling , but if i leave it at 1.0 bar it revs to 7,000 no problems the car is stock except a K&N typhoon intake car has 1,000 miles on it , its A 2004 any help or info would be greatly appreciated

Verify your boost levels. I have the same set-up and only experience fuel-cut when I turned it up too much. I keep mine just over stock levels, no problems.

Check for boost leaks, make sure evrything is tight if you haven't already. I have mine set at 21psi, not sure what that represents "bar" wise but I have never had any issues and have had it on through many levels of mods.

It is possible that the nut that the bottom may be a little bit loose and it is leaking air. I checked mine and it was not loose, but it wasn't exactly tight either. Over time with heat and vibration it can loosen causing boost leaks.

If you are getting a cut off feeling it is not a boost leak, although it would be wise to check for that. More likely it relates to more boost combined with the troublesome Typhoon intake and not being tuned for either one of them.

FYI if you are using timing control on your e-Manage be aware that people have killed their coils with it. That could also be a reason that you can not rev over 4500 rpm.

Good luck guy! Use the search on this board lots of good technical stuff here.

That's an old wives tail. The people that have burnt up coils may have wired the unit wrong. I run timing control and fuel control for over 20k miles now, and haven't even had a hiccup yet.
I still recommend the E-Manage.

Oh so that was the issue. Can you post a the correct wiring for the unit for EVOM.

Because most people were having trouble with coils burning up and I can't beleve everyone had it wired wrong.

Check your spark plugs also, I hit fuel cut when i hooked mine up to unsafe boost and it makes your spark plugs glow and they basically about melt. Turn your boost down you do not have enough fuel getting to mix with all the air!
