523 WHP with Flash and AMS Gt35R turbo kit
Guys - here is a dyno sheet from today on the AMS GT35R turbo kit and my Dyno Flash
This is the most power we have ever made on the flash without nos
We did not want to press further as it was a bone stock motor
Thr run had some bumps in the start of the pull from the car sliiping the clutch or all 4 wheels on the dyno - (it spooled hard)
The AMS Turbo kit is a killer set up - and we are showing that the stock ecu can support very high whp levels

Mods are
AMS GT35R
3" exchaust
272 272 HKS cams
780 cc injectors
Walbro fuel pump
Stock head and valve springs
ARP head studs and rod bolts
AVO fmic - stock upper fmic pipes
Turbo xs RFL BOV
Hallman MBC
Here is same turbo dyno sheet on my race engine and stand alone at 10 psi more boost (from new Jan Turbo Magazine)

I did not want to try another pull at this power level as I did not want to take any chances with a customer's clutch which was over loaded beyond its capacity
In the later part I ran it richer near peak cylinder pressure and then tapering off leaner towards red line as the smallish injectors exceeded 100% duty cycle
All in all - the a/f is a pump gas super safe rich level
I could have gotten another 20 whp with more tuning
Once we hit 500 whp it was basically time to turn down the boost and put a road racing tune in the car as that is what this customer is doing with his ride
As for the upper limits - we did not come close to them on this tune
There is a lot of power left for ths stock ecu
I think the stock ecu could do a lot more - we may try again one day if we find a customer with a stronger clutch and built motor

Great numbers! Few questions. What intake was he using? What about the exhaust?
Did you notice if the stock upper i/c pipe had too much expansion at that much air flow? Think it hurt power?
Thanks

Wow congrat's on some great number's Al. I am sure that Evo owner is happy. I love seeing that the stock Ecu and Dynoflash can work so well with turbo upgrades now I just have to wait until my warranty is up. Oh well it gives me time to save for the turbo kit anyway

This customer actually has an extra resonator to quiet the exhuast sound so its not a racing exhuast by any means
The expansion of the stock upper i/c pipe may make the car feel a bit soft on spool up with the stock turbo but with the AMS turbo its a non - issue
Without a doubt a perfromance fmic pipe set would help things a bit with a more direct air flow
But what brand exhaust was it? I'm just curious...
I have a 3" B&B catback, and while I like how it's quiet, I'm afraid it's hurting performance. So it's either a 3" Cutout, or a new catback. So I'm curious what catback this guy is using.
Also, how can I get dynoflashed? I'm in CA.

Through steady work and focusing 100% on evos for over a year every day we have unlocked many hidden functions of the stock ecu (kind of like playing Halo 1,000 times, you learn a few short cuts and hiden keys) and now we have had an opportunity today to go beyond even what I would have predicted was possible even a few months ago.
btw - there are a lot of really exciting developments taking place at Dyno Flash which will be announced in the comming days and weeks. Since we took the race car out of service for the season at the end of the summer I have been working full time on going forward with some of the ideas I dreamed up over the course of the past year. Goal # 1 - make the USA's fastest street driven STI - in the works.

As far as getting a Dyno Flash in cali - I will be there next week the 12th through the 15th for fully tuned custom flashes and we are running a unheard of low price on this trip of $299.99 for the flash and 2 hours of custom tuning. The trip is just about sold out - there may be a spot or two left - details on my area of these forums.
Also - we always have the through the mail flash which you can get by sending your ecu by fed ex for $199.99.
We do have a CA shop which represents us out there Dynamic Design of Chatsworth California.
