Dialing in cams correctly?

Dialing in cams correctly?

Hi.

Have a few question for you guys that are using a 360 degree wheel and indicator watch for dialing in your cams correctly.

I seem to have lost 14 degrees in duration, since i only get 250 in total duration (cams are Jun 264)

Starts to open 28 deg BTDC
Closes totally at 42 deg ABDC

28+180+42=250 in total : (

Headgasket is abit thicker but in has been encounterred for.

Messurement points has been dialing in TDC for piston, then zerod the dial plate at this pos, then messurements done on the titanium retainer.

Is it the lash adjuster and rocker arm than are spooking me up here or is i doing any thing wrong.

Suggestions wanted plz.

You need to locate yourself two solid lifters to properly degree your camshafts. Your Hyd. lifters are throwing your numbers off. I would not however expect your measured values to match JUN's advertised duration of 264.
