Ordered my turbo kit

Well, I ordered my turbo kit. It's an ATP ball bearing 3037S with .82 AR turbine. Looking to make about 400whp on 91 octane. I picked .82AR because I'm willing to sacrifice a few hundred rpm of lag for more top end. Should compliment my 264/272 HKS cams nicely.

I'll have more information and pics when it arrives. I ordered it from ProStreetOnline, here:

http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/a...it/mitsubishi/

I wanted the kit because it looks stealth. I do want a different exhaust manifold later, but I'm not sure which I can get that can keep the stock heatshield, or comes with it's own heatshield. I'll research and report back here.

Anyone have this kit? Opinions welcome.

BTW, since this kit comes with a downpipe, my B&B 3" downpipe is for sale... make me an offer

Which EMS r u using with this setup? It's going to be tough to make 400whp (dynojet?) on 91 octane. Your setup will have lag for sure, hope u r using a test pipe to help the spool up. Good luck keep us posted!

Yeah, I am using a testpipe, and might use a ATP Cutout before the testpipe also. I'm going to use an AFCII for now, and see what it can do for me. No sense in upgrading that until I can get some dyno numbers as is, and see what I can do.

Whats the benefit for going with the .82 A/R as opposed to the .63 A/R?

More top end. You sacrifice spool up though.

Does the stock turbo hits harder than an upgraded turbo?

What I mean is the head jerking feeling will be gone if you upgrade to a larger turbo?

Someone told me that the upgraded turbo will not hit as hard as the larger turbo.

No, this turbo definately hits harder, it just lags more. The head jerking feeling can be there, but you have to punch it when the turbo is in its boost efficiency range.

Punching it in first now gets me sideways.

.63 on a 3037S = too much boost surge.
